En Primeur Mapocho Chilean Carmenere

Posted by: RJ Spagnols, Monday, September 22, 2008

Our Chilean Carmenère, fermented on Merlot Genuwine Winery Dried Grape Skins offers liberal flavours of fresh blackberries, plums and violet notes. Full-bodied, this exquisite wine treats the palate to the richness of French toasted oak with smooth silky tannins and succulent dark fruits. An excellent balance between freshness, fruit and structure gives an ample and impressively persistent finish.

I made this kit and entered it in the Florida State Fair and won a gold medal. It was the 21st annual wine competition and there were 1880 entries from 33 states and 11 countries.
I started it in March 08 and bulk aged in the dark until September.
This is a wonderful wine and I recommend it to anyone.

I made this kit approx. 3 years ago. The wine was very nice at one year of age, however, when it turned two it was fantastic. Terrific kit. Actually, it even won a gold at the provincials last year !
