En Primeur Golden Heights Australian Chardonnay

Our Australian Chardonnay is fermented on a combination of heavy toasted Hungarian oak shavings and lightly toasted American oak chips, this supple, elegant wine boasts rich aromas of honey and tropical fruits while apples, melon and toasted oak notes tantalise the palate.

I made this wine because I was looking for a really good Chardonnay to add to my cellar. All my friends and family say it’s one of the best chardonnays they’ve ever tasted, even though the wine is still young (6 months).

This wine is not to my liking, its citrus taste is too dominating for my taste buds. I’ve never been a huge fan of citrus, and although most chardonnays do contain some form of citrus accents, I find the citrus too prominent in this wine. Can anyone comment on Cru Select New Zealand Unoaked Chardonnay? I’m thinking of making this one next time.
